Travelling with children policy

Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to set out the rules and restrictions in relation to the use of the Ola platform and the transport services booked through the Ola platform by or for minors.

Customers
Ola strictly prohibits children under the age of 18 to use its rideshare platform unless accompanied by an adult.

Persons under the age of 18 are prohibited from holding an Ola account. If Ola becomes aware of an account being held by a person under the age of 18, the account will be immediately suspended.

Customers must not book rides for children under 18 years of age unless they are accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the trip.

Drivers
Drivers are prohibited from picking up customers/persons under the age of 18 unless accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the trip.

If the driver suspects that a passenger is or maybe under the age of 18, the driver must request to see identification from the passenger to satisfy himself/herself that they are over 18 years of age prior to commencing the trip.

Drivers must not allow parents/adults to put children or any persons under 18 years of age in the vehicle unless accompanied by an adult. The driver has the right to refuse the ride on these grounds.

Child Restraints
When travelling with children it is up to the passenger to supply and fit an appropriately aged car seat to ensure all passengers are buckled in safely. The car seat must comply with state laws and be fitted properly according to the manufacturers’ guide.  Both drivers and riders should know and comply with local laws and regulations.

As an Ola driver, it is your responsibility to ensure that every person in your vehicle is travelling according to state laws.
