White Night 2019
Get ready for White Night!
22nd – 24th August 2019
White night is a 3 night, winter festival full of art, culture, music & food.
Iconic cultural institutions will be open for extended hours from the 22nd-24th August.
This year’s event will be held in 3 main precincts:
- Carlton Gardens
- Treasury Gardens
- Birrarung Marr
Be prepared for riders travelling to and from the Melbourne CBD.
There will be road closures and special event clearways for the duration of the festival.

Finishing times:
- Thursday 22nd & Friday 23rd August will finish at MIDNIGHT
- Saturday 24th August will finish at 2AM
Pick-up & Drop-off zones
It is important to manage pick-ups & drop-offs in the designated areas only for the duration of the festival. This ensures both your safety & risk, as well as that of your rider.
Ola have created hot spots for riders to make it easier to meet you & start their ride.
Authorities will be actively directing cars & people to these designated zones.
It is important to ensure you do not park, stop or stand in bus & taxi zones to avoid receiving a fine.
Picking up your Rider
White Night will be a busy time for riders & drivers. You can ensure your rider finds you by:
- Ensure you are driving your registered Ola vehicle so that the rider can find you via your car registration. If you need to change the car you will be driving, you can do this in your Ola driver app. Click HERE to learn how.
Road Closures
There will be some road closures during White Night, however, unlike previous years a full city closure will not take place.
