Vivid Sydney

Get ready for the 11th Annual Vivid Sydney!

24 May – 15 June 2019

Be prepared for riders travelling to precincts in Sydney over 23 days & nights.

There will be road closures, designated pick-up and drop-off zones and demerit points will be in force during the June long weekend.

Pick-up & Drop-off zones

It is important to manage pick-ups & drop-offs in the designated areas only for the duration of the festival. This ensures both your safety & risk, as well as that of your rider.

Ola have created hot spots for riders to make it easier to meet you & start their ride.

Authorities will be actively directing cars & people to these designated zones.

It is important to ensure you do not park, stop or stand in bus & taxi zones to avoid receiving a fine.

Picking up your Rider

Vivid will be a busy time for riders & drivers. You can ensure your rider finds you by:

  1. Making your Ola car sticker visible on the back right hand corner of your rear window. If you need an Ola car sticker, click HERE & we will send it to you.
  2. Light up your Ola LED* each night. This should be visible at the front left hand corner of your windscreen. The LED has a 12 hour battery life, when fully charged.
  3. Ensure you are driving your registered Ola vehicle so that the rider can find you via your car registration. If you need to change the car you will be driving, you can do this in your Ola driver app. Click HERE to learn how.

Road Closures

Key roads in the Sydney CBD, The Rocks, and Circular Quay will be closed each night during the festival from 5pm-12am.

Other key areas in Sydney such as Chatswood, Darling Harbour, Redfern & Luna Park will also experience higher levels of traffic, road closures, and diversions.

Safety

Major events are a time for enjoyment and for spending time with family and friends. During this time, we encourage all our drivers and passengers to keep safety as a priority when riding with Ola.

To highlight the importance of safety, including providing tips and recommendations to help your driver experience, Ola’s Safety Management Guidelines cover a spectrum of safety matters such as harassment or inappropriate behaviour of drivers or passengers to safe handling of heavy luggage and includes a Safety Commitment Policy for our drivers.

Please ensure you familiarise with this so you are Ola-ready for riders.

Drive safe & enjoy the lights!

*LED lights are currently unavailable. This message only pertains to drivers who received delivery of limited edition LED’s in 2018
