Ola officially launches in Perth

Australia’s newest ridesharing platform offers free rides for a week to passengers and increased earnings potential for drivers

Perth – Australia, February 22, 2018: Following a successful soft launch, Ola, one of the world’s largest ridesharing platforms is now officially operating in Perth, and has hired its first set of Australian employees in the city to build local partnerships and support drivers.

While the focus of the soft launch was to onboard drivers and test out its services, Ola will officially engage potential riders from today through a wide variety of offers, and continue to recruit drivers.

Building trust amongst both customers and drivers is important to develop a viable ridesharing marketplace that delivers a high quality transport experience. Since initiating trials a week ago, the service has received a strong response from drivers with over 4,000 registrations.

While providing passengers a better way to move, Ola’s growth and expansion overseas has always been driven by a driver focused approach to ridesharing, including investing in its drivers and supporting them with new technology, training and ways to increase earnings.

In the coming weeks, Ola plans to roll out a number of new initiatives for drivers including new earnings programs, 24/7 support and community town-halls.

Chandra Nath, Vice President of International, Ola said,“We are excited to officially start offering rides to customers in Perth. Since we began testing in the city last week, we’ve been really pleased with the response and feedback we’re receiving from customers, drivers and the community.”

Customers in Perth can continue to download the Ola app from the Android or Apple App Store, register for an Ola account and begin booking rides. Drivers can learn more about driving and registering with Ola by visiting drive.olacabs.com
